‘Asian Cultures’ is a website that aims to inform on a wide range of cultural topics related to Asia. It will do so based on the concept of cultural history.

The cultural history has become one of the paradigms of reference of historiography. The cultural history is not a unified theory that prescribes how to organize historical knowledge nor lays down rules for the selection of subjects worthy of study.

It is characterized for a plurality of approaches that originate from different disciplines and traditions, with which it shares the idea that all knowledge is tied to language, communication and culture, that think, feel and act in history are mediated by culture.

This site is the heir of another site that achieved great success in studies, ‘Islamic Journal’. The part relating to the Middle East is now a subsection which intends to contribute to the study of Arabic and Islamic history from the point of view of cultural history.

The site hosting the magazine is written in three languages: Italian, French, English is directed by Prof. Antonio De Lisa.
